Hello world!

You have reached the “modern retro home page” of Noah Petherbridge!

This website was built in 2025 but is designed to capture that essence of “Early Web” design: back when websites were colorful, unique, personalized and full of fancy effects.

On this site, you will find:

  • My own retro artwork from the “early Internet” era (before ca. 2008). I used to dabble in Flash animations, 3D modeling, and even creating buddy icons for AOL Instant Messenger!
  • Some “Shrines” to my favorite content that I was able to gather from the early Internet. I’ll try and show off my favorite Flash games and Newgrounds cartoons, and maybe throw a few GIF shrines up to some of my favorite things – in the classic Early Web way.
  • Links to really cool resources I found, especially about the Indie Web movement and “new old” services for the nostalgic or curious.

While this website is designed to look old school (with a “table based layout” and everything!), it is actually optimized for modern devices: it’s mobile friendly! For the best result, I recommend viewing from a desktop or laptop, so you can see the full design and run your mouse cursor over the page. 😊

Initial Artwork & Poetry

With the basic skeleton of my new website put together, today I’ve uploaded a bunch of new artwork: some “new old” 3D renders, Flash animations, a ton of old AIM & MSN buddy icons, and even some cringe old poetry from my high school days!

Check them out on the site’s main nav bar to the left!

Welcome to my new old website!

This is my first blog post on my new Neocities site!

This year I had discovered that the Indie Web movement is a thing, and that sites such as Neocities and SpaceHey exist which are bringing back ALL the nostalgia for me!

Like many early Netizens of the Internet, I used to build hot trash websites of my own in the true classic style of the Old Web!

While the Internet grew up and everybody consolidated around the social media platforms we have today, I’ve always maintained my personal websites and kept them kinda looking old school (with lots of color and background images). But, many of my websites today don’t have that “late 90’s/early 2000’s charm” to them anymore!

With Neocities bringing this charm back, I felt inspired to create this website! I want to make it look like the brilliant hot trash we had on the early Internet, but still have it be modern and compliant with the latest Web standards (e.g., working well on mobile devices!)

My main web blog that I’ve maintained ever since high school is Kirsle.net, so you can check that out to see what I’m up to today. On this site, however, I decided I will make it into a sort of “living time capsule” where I will host all my retro old artwork and content from the Old Web era, as well as load it full of those fun Geocities GIFs and gather some of my favorite old Flash games & cartoons too!

Stay tuned!
